Award-winning strength and conditioning coach and best-selling author, Lorne Goldenberg, is the owner of Strength Tek Fitness & Wellness Consultants, a corporate fitness company that has provided wellness and fitness to over 20,000 people in North America for over 30 years. He also owned Ottawa’s first athlete training facility for 18 years, The Athletic Conditioning Center (ACC). He holds an honours degree in Physical Education from the University of Ottawa and is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He is also a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology.

Throughout his career, Lorne has been sought out by professional and prospective players in Olympic Sports, NHL, OHL, NFL and CFL, because he brings over 30 years of experience of training athletes at a high performance level. As the strength coach for the Montreal Canadiens hockey team, Lorne was instrumental in preparing the team for its long playoff run in 2010.

Throughout his distinguished career, Lorne has also worked with the Florida Panthers, Ottawa Senators, Ottawa Rough Riders, St.Louis Blues, Chicago Blackhawks, Quebec Nordiques, Colorado Avalanche, Windsor Spitfires, Owen Sound Attack, Ottawa 67’s and the University of Ottawa Football Team. NHLers Daniel Alfredsson, Daniel Briere, Corey Stillman, Zach Bogosian, Jeff Skinner and Matt Bradley are just a few who seek out his expertise. In 2009, Lorne joined former client Gary Roberts in his new pro hockey training business in Uxbridge Ont, where the client list included Steven Stamkos, James Neale, Chris Tierney, and many other NHL and OHL players over the years. Lorne continues to consult with Gary today and the Gary Roberts brand of training and lifestyle.

From 2015-2018 Lorne was the Director Sports Performance for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he oversaw the off-ice development program for over 400 Pens Elite AAA players, including NHL professionals, juniors and athletes from a variety of other sports, including tennis, swimming, baseball, volleyball and basketball just to name a few.

Strength Ball Training, co authored by Peter Twist, is now in its 3rd edition and has sold over 100,000 copies worldwide, and has been translated into 6 languages.

TV, Radio, and social media have also benefited from Lorne’s input and experience.  In 2012 he was the host for Rogers TV’s OHL Hockey between period show “The Next Level”. This segment provided cutting edge tips and exercises to young hockey players during OHL games.  Additionally, Lorne has been a guest on Ottawa Radio CFRA’s Experts on Call and The Outdoor Show, providing in depth commentary on a variety of fitness topics.
